Thanks for updating Why Blog is decreasing with comments and I would like to add 2 main reasons i.e. not doing blogging regularly and 2nd one not replying to the comments.

I just recently read a blog post about how Problogger, Kikolani, and another person weren’t excepting guest posts anymore. Where they not being choosy enough who they allowed or did they just want to put their own voice back into their blog. I don’t know.

I have to agree with you that you must trust the blogger. On my Pibbles blog, I did allow some “companies” and “brands” to guest. It worked out fine. On MGP, I allow those I trust and know. These are also people who know my blog “vibe” and can fit in rather easily. I love the feature interviews you do on Logallot. Very awesome indeed.

I’m not sure about the more content and less comment thing. Maybe that could be more niche specific? I personally would rather see more comments and less content. I believe it gives my readers more time to comment on my post and visit other blogs as well. Sometimes with the daily poster blogs I visit, I can’t possibly comment on all of them. Does my one non-comment matter much to them? Probably not but if there are many others like myself, then it could be hurting them.

I guess to each his/her own, right. I’m not stressing any longer about producing content. I’d rather produce when I can and make it something of substance versus random bs. That’s what I keep my Tumblr for

I’m amazed at the stuff you come up with and always see a slew of comments on your posts. Like you said, and that’s probably the norm, some topics are less popular than others but I think all of us go through that. Heck, I write a few floppers every now and again and go back later and say “Did I really write that crap?” hehe No wonder no one comments!

Do you notice more comments since you aren’t posting as much per week? I think it’s helped with my traffic, at least on my Pibbles blog. The dog niche is huge for daily posters. I just can’t keep up with em and gave up trying.

I’m glad you mentioned that about guest posts. It does seem to be a good way to go, if you trust the blogger enough, to take a little break yourself and let them “own” the blog for a week. I truly enjoy having Contributors on my blogs. Gives me a break, gives my readers a break from me, and introduces more faces.

Traffic is a big thing and as long as you can find ways to get it to your blog, at least your content is being read. Keep up the good work Sicorra!

I absolutely agree with everything you send. There are many factors one might see their comments decreasing. I used to get bent about it but no more. I watch my traffic and there are many reading, just not leaving comments. Some are reaching out via other avenues and some just don’t have anything to apply to the post. It’s all good imo. Until I see my traffic dying down, I’m not going to worry and continue to keep my A-Game rolling!

Since I increased my blog posts from one to three a week, there has been a decrease in comments.

I kind of expected that because I wouldn’t expect people to comment on all of them. Choose the ones you like and comment and if you don’t like them, that’s fine too .

Before when I was only posting once a week, the comments were around the 60+ mark whereas now they’re around the 20+ mark.

By only posting once a week, I found exactly what you suggested, people had more time to comment.

I mentioned that to Brian in the comments on his post and his thoughts were that he’s rather have more content than more comments. That’s what I’ve been thinking too.

The social shares haven’t really gone down though which is a bonus!
