Oh good grief! It's Black Friday and my email inbox is filling up with deals and deals after deals! How tempting it is to click the link, shop, and charge it to my card! However, I'm one of those people who: Hates to shop in an actual store Loves to shop online when I need something Know when to stop spending and not go into debt Doesn't believe in the whole Holiday gift giving thing Am I strange? Maybe, but hear me out. Christmas, imo, has become so commercialized, its makes me sick. People going into debt so that their children have a gazillion presents under the tree, just doesn't … [Read more...]
Hmm..Out With the Old and Missing Some of It
Well it's been I guess a week or so since I'm been using my new Samsung Washer and Dryer, you may recall my previous post, He Loves Me, He Loves Me, and I have to admit, I do miss a few things my old standard Maytags had. Yes, can you believe it? I hated those Maytags, simply because they weren't large enough. :) Come to find out, the hubs hauled the old one away this past weekend, the washer's belt melted around the motor. EEK!! Yes, probably totally fixable but gave us and out to upgrade. So back to what I miss..... My Maytags were very standard. Nothing digital, just a few knobs here … [Read more...]
He Loves Me, He Loves Me
For the past several months, every time we visited Lowes , I always manage to breeze through the washer and dryers. My Maytags are only 7 years old yet we've had to replace the heating element in the dryer and well, my washer rocks and rolls all over the dang place! So, a girl can dream, right? I had the ones picked out that I wanted for when mine went "up in smoke". I wanted both larger capacity than what I already had. A 4.7 cu. in. washer would be able to handle my king-size blanket with no problems. Well, this past weekend as I'm finishing up the next to last load of laundry, a small … [Read more...]
Embrace Your Past and Move On
My very first love story is one of love, hate, dysfunction, and pain. By the time it was over, I was left confused, betrayed, and had no self-esteem. Through therapy and rebuilding myself, I found happiness, strength and self-esteem once again. Here's my story: I was 18 years old, in college, and fell in love. My father and his wife hated him, yet I didn't care. I dropped out of college, got a full-time job, moved out of my father's house, and into my boyfriend's house with his mother and father. (Are you seeing the dysfunction already?) My boyfriend liked to party. Me? I was just getting … [Read more...]
Adventures In Laundry
Yes, the weekend has arrive and I'm doing my usual "domestics" day. What's that? A fun-filled day of doing laundry. Meh...I truly hate laundry, or at least, I hate folding and hanging laundry! I'm up Sunday and get my first load in the washer. Hubs uniforms. Yes, he's an Independent Contractor for one of the "delivery" companies and get's to wear cute lil shirts and shorts. ;) Anywho.............here's what happened: Dryer buzzer went of my cue to go start folding........off to the laundry room I go Me (hubs is passing through to go outside): "Do these smell like gas?" (holding up a … [Read more...]
